Inti Zlobec elected Digital Pathology Professor

The University of Bern has elected Inti Zlobec as Professor of Digital Pathology as of April 2022. The position is one of several new professorships in the field of artificial intelligence and digitalization in medicine that have been created as part of a new research focus in this area.

Inti Zlobec holds a PhD in Experimental Medicine from McGill University in Montreal and has completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the University Hospital Basel. After habilitating in 2010, she has joined the Institute of Pathology, University of Bern, where she established and led the Translational Research Unit (TRU) and later the Tissue Bank Bern (TBB). Inti Zlobec became Associate Professor in 2014. Today, she leads an interdisciplinary research group using artificial intelligence and machine learning as tools to study digital pathology images along with other data to discover and validate novel predictive biomarkers for colorectal cancer patients.
