Who can apply?
We invite Master and PhD students from the Graduate Schools for Cellular and Biomedical Sciences as well as Health Sciences of the University of Bern,and MD students from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Bern to submit their applications for best student project CAIM 2022. Projects in the area of AI for medicine are encouraged with special interest in projects with translational potential and projects featuring aspects of diversity of AI in medicine.
How to submit?
Interested applicants submit a two-page application letter explaining the project, main results, impact of project to medicine and your reasons as to why you think the project deserves the award. If your project has the potential to translate directly into healthcare, be sure to include this in your argumentation. Illustrations and other illustrative media material are encouraged. Submissions are to be sent via info.caim@unibe.ch as single PDF file.
For the creative
If you wish to present your work in a short video pitch, we invite you to try a "My thesis in 180 seconds" format (example). This is not a mandatory application item but is highly encouraged as it both gives you an opportunity to present your research under real-world pitching circumstances and tells us more about you and your approach to AI in medicine.
Timing
Submissions can be handed in between 5 September and 7 November 2022.
The selected best projects will be announced at the CAIM Research Symposium, 24 November 2022 and awarded CHF 500 for the "Best Project" and "Best DAIM Project" respectively.
